Why you can believe this

Strokade stores nothing server-side and runs on a small rented server that costs pocket change per month. It doesn't need your money, or anyone's, to survive. There are no investors, no growth targets, and nothing to sell you. The service can't be held hostage by its own hosting bill, which is what usually drives a service to compromise its values.

I accept donations gladly; but it's just a tip jar. It doesn't get you special access or other benefit, material, virtual, or otherwise. I can't stop you from imagining it having a benefit though; have at.

Partnerships and money

Would I ever accept money for this product from a partner? Yes, obviously, of course. However, I wouldn't do so if any of that partner's demands violated my above core promises. If you're a company emailing about a partnership, this paragraph is the standing answer to "what would you change for money?" Nothing user-facing, at any price.

Hold me to it

This page is the standard. If a future version of it softens, hedges, or grows exceptions, that is the red flag it was designed to be; call it out. The app ships unminified and every network request it makes is inspectable in your browser, so most of these promises aren't things you have to take on faith anyway; the privacy policy shows how to check.
